Cameron Park in Waco, Texas
Cameron Park in Waco, Texas
Sometimes we want to get out of our daily routines in offices and businesses and get a glimpse of fresh air. That is why parks and recreational sites have so much meaning to the human race. That brings us to the history of Cameron Park. In 1910, there was no hope of Waco ever getting a park after a business person purchased the only available land. Later the same year, Flora Cameron announced that she was donating the land to Waco's city in memory of her late husband. That was the birth of the now Cameron park.
For years, Flora continued supporting the park's development. Today, it is one of the best places to visit when in Waco, Texas. In May 2010, the park celebrated a century with all the funds from the celebration aimed at new developments in the park. The address of the park is 2601 N University Parks Dr, Waco, TX 76708.
